Off the Air (in more ways than one)
Hip, hip, hurrah for the Australian telecommunications industry and the dusty monolith that is Telstra. Three more hearty cheers for the two Telstra technicians who felt it necessary to pop home for an early afternoon kip instead of connecting me with the world. And finally a big cheery shout out to the lunatic frenchman who finds it necessary to strike up a dalliance with every ne'er do well telco who is prepared to offer us half a six-pack and and an on-site caravan holiday in Burke in exchange for our souls . I salute you gentlemen.
So how the bloody hell are you? I'm looking forward to catching up with all you've been up to during my imposed silence. Me? I'm all about dolomite lime, compost and the odd movement of vases from room to room. The house and I have been sizing each other up and I'm relieved to say that neither of us have come out wanting. And then there's the garden..wintersweet, daphne and old, old wallflowers. I'm planting banksias out the front and watching the acacia blossom. Life is good.
Thanks to the lovely Lexi for sending me a parcel of goodies including this yummy fabric. Thanks also to Leah for the fabric from her fabo shop and the extra goodies she included. Loved it all.
I'm off to check out my heavily laden bloglines to see what you've been up to.

I'm so pleased the fabric arrived safely - I was a bit worried after the address issues -
Though now I am convinced that you are either a spy, or two women at once. heh.

I'm planting Banksias, too!
And flowering gums.
And have been practising regular pilfering from around the neighbourhood of pretty branches.
Have you come across those trees that are covered in weeping stalky bits with a collection of green balls?
(You do know what your older type folk say about wattle inside, don't you?)

Glad you like it, and hope you love the little needle holder too. So cute!
As for Telstra - I hear you, we've had ongoing issues - 6 months of crackling phone, periods where no one can get through on our line - and the same old quip from Telstra - 'Oh yes, there is a fault on your line', but none of the technicians sent ever remedied it. Finally last week they corrected it. Do I have a few gripes with Telstra? Just quietly!

Love the wattle. I'm driving down via Canberra on Sunday, can't wait to see all the lovely wattle on the side of the road, so pretty. Telstra is the bane of my existence. They are the most inefficient company ever. My phone line is always on the blink and then they have the hide to ring up and ask on a buzzing, crackling line if they can sell me more crappy services I don't need or want. And then there's the health system. You poor bugger. Hope the little one is feeling better.
