Take it from the Frenchman who has made it his life's work to sample every pain au chocolat between Marseille and Melbourne, Monsieur truffe has Australia's best, (except for that brief and heavenly period when Sydney's Sonoma was employing a gifted French pastry chef). I should be embarrassed to say that we had two each but I'm not. I also had a mocha.
I waddled rather than walked out of the shop but it was entirely worth it.
Monsieur truffe, 90 Smith St, Collingwood.

Mmm yum, Melbourne is the home of many good things methinks! Me knows more to the point. Me likey.
So we're heading to Melbs, we think. With the smalls in tow. The Nunnery or Brooklyn.. Which would be your choice? x
