Thinking about - how come I'm not as excited as I'd like to be about our first female prime minister. It may have something to do with caving in to the big mining companies and her populist stance to toughen Labor's position on refugees. It makes me remember the last time I got excited about having a female political leader when I was six and Margaret Thatcher became England's first female prime minister and boy was that a mistake! Don't shift to the right Julia, tax the miners, redistribute to the more vulnerable members of our society and remember that it would take over twenty years to fill the MCG with so called 'illegal refugees'. Then and only then will I think about getting excited about your gender.

PS This is food for thought
