It's grainy with drizzle today and I have finally got in a bit of sewing, altering that vintage dress up there for work.
Yesterday I walked the crazy whippet in the late afternoon down past the vineyards with the sun on my back, listening to this song by The Shins. A flock of cockatoos took flight from the carcass of an old gum tree and a wallaby and her joey followed us at a distance for 50 metres before shying away into the grape vines. I held my breath.
Obscurely this made me think of all the bands I like that start with a definite article: The Shins, The Cure, The Go-Betweens, The Strokes, The Smiths, The Sundays, The Audreys, The Pretenders, The Magnetic Fields, The Cruel Sea ..Are you well? Are you a fan of bands starting with a definite article too?

I'm inspired by the fact that you're going to wear a dress to work with the winter we're having - I've fallen into the rut of black trousers most days. Must try harder......by the way the dress is lovely.

It is raining here as well, a nice excuse to stay home and play with fabric.
I love the dress and also the carpet that I had already noticed: a kilim of some kind?

Your walk with your whippet sounds wonderful. Here in Holland we have rain, no vineyards, no cockatoos, no gumtrees and no wallabies. The way you describe it I can see a picture of it in my head.

Love the rug and the slippers especially!
Your post of the walk was idyllic and has brightened a very dull morning in Buckinghamshire, UK.
With Thanks, Val
