For me there is always a little grief at the end of the summer garden, luckily this is when sedums start to really come into their own. As usual I am completely gormless about the botanical names of the following.
I can tell you that the appallingly named 'pig-face' is in the background of the first photograph and the second shows a particularly splendid California Poppy that has flowered so much this year I am surprised it hasn't spontaneously combusted from its efforts.
The third photo is a mystery sedum my darling mum discovered in a shady corner that I moved and which has subsequently and gratifyingly burst into spectacular flower.
I think I have white dahlias flowering. A surprise from my mother. I just whacked them in the ground, and now they're flowering. These are all beautiful. I'm coming your way soon ... I might have to bring the gardening gloves, rooting powder, a trowel and clippers.

i love sedum. little baby sedums to the ridiculously tall and wide.
i worked in a greenhouse for a couple seasons, in the perennial dept. i used to know the (latin) names of everything! then i had a baby and forgot it all... sigh.

Thanks for the link from your blog, I had no idea about this ones existance. Now I can day dream about having a huge garden filled with flowers, vegtables, fruit and herbs... instead of a small Japanese-inspired garden, which I do love, but I would love to have both... Garden greedy?

Pff and piddle. My garden looks like shite at the moment. I was hoping you wouldn't post here again for quite some time - like until just after a severe frost or something. ;)
