I've really enjoyed watching people embrace film again on flickr. So much so that I thought I would try it for myself, I got out my old Nikon F65 for a whirl around the block. These are the first results and I can see how it can become addictive. There is an atmosphere that can't be replicated in digital. A grainy, earthy scratchyness that captures light in a really honest way. The bug has bitten me now and I've landed a couple of old Yashicas to mix things up a bit. I'll post the results soon.

Stunning!

These are lovely. Can I ask ~ what kind of film did you use?

MmMmmm. Hear that loud enough? MmMmMMMMMM. Sod it. I'm trying to tell you they are stunningly gorgeous. And to think I only just embraced the digital at Christmas.
PS. Forgot to reply - the FIL 'ell' thing had me in stitches for an entire morning. I have a grin on my face as I type.

I miss my film too. I have a Pentax Spotmatic and it was beautiful. Captured light so perfectly.

sorry i'm new to this, since I've had my digital for a few years now- I stopped using my beloved cannon~ if you don't mind me asking what type of film did you use on these pictures? it looks like an action, not film. nice pics- i like the grainy look

Yes! Film is so satisfying. I find that the film camera almost always has the shots I want to keep, where the dozens of shots on the digital (yes, I usually travel with both -- i'm a camera tragic) fail to move me in the same way.

It's funny you should say this. I was just thinking about pulling out my old 35mm yesterday. Our digital camera has no bells and whistles so it often leaves me wanting more.
